Ported Classical
Port

Some “custom” features are a lot more work than you might think. The little hole in the side of this guitar represents more than a month of work: not so much making the hole, of course, but rather figuring out where, how big, and what else to do to make up for it.

The guitar in the background of this picture was the “homework” needed to figure that out.

Otherwise, the “ported” guitar is more or less a normal “standard” classical size guitar. It has Indian rosewood sides and back, a European spruce top, morado binding and bridge, and an ebony fingerboard. The scale length is 640mm and it has a cutaway. The bridge was provided with a shim to allow for quick changes between “normal” action and the “low” required for Flamenco playing.
